PROF. IHONVBERE BAGS ANOTHER AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR QUALITY REPRESENTATION, HUMANITARIAN SERVICES AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.
The Member representing Owan Federal Constituency and Chairman, Committee on Basic Education and Services at the House of Representatives, Rep. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere, OON, bags an AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for quality representation, humanitarian services and social development within OWAN, Edo state and the Nation at large.
The award was bestowed on the erudite scholar by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)
Dioceses of Sabongidda-Ora, St. James Anglican Church, Okpuje Iuleha, Owan West LGA, Edo State.
The recognition, according to the organizers, is as a result of his enormous contributions to humanity, societal re- engineering, national integration, positive disposition towards notable causes on national issues, humanitarian services and community development.
“The Church has x-rayed and followed your uncommon political exploits in the Nigeria politics where your excellent contributions have kindled HOPE for the common man in Nigeria especially Edo State”.
“Furthermore, your experience in both the private and public sectors, has given you an edge over your contemporaries. Consequently, your legislative proficiency has earned you one of the most vibrant and articulate legislators in the National Assembly as your humility, compassion to the vulnerable in our society are unparalleled”.
While receiving the award, Prof. Ihonvbere appreciated the Bishop of the Anglican Church for finding him worthy to be awarded. The lawmaker, described it as a catalyst to do more for the overall good of Owan citizens both home and in Diaspora as well as the interest of the Nation.
“This award has further revealed that in whatever one does, there is always someone watching and keeping record”.
“Everyday, I work tirelessly in keeping with my promises to the people of Owan Federal Constituency and that is the BOND I share with them. In my two and half year in office, I have facilitated the construction and renovation of over twenty (20) Schools, provided Instructional/educational materials to over twenty five (25) Schools, provided Motorized boreholes to schools and other public spaces in the communities”.
“I have also, provided transformers, solar street lights, scholarships to tertiary students from Owan, registration of JAMB for over 300 owan indigenes, WAEC/NECO assistance, facilitated over 15 federal jobs, over 15 (fifteen) empowerment programs among youths and many more and I am further committed to do more in the coming year”.
The academic don also noted that outside education, the health, football, entertainment and agricultural sector won’t be left out.
