Picture/Video: Gridlock on Ewu Hill slows down pace of palliative work on Benin Auchi Road.
Ekpoma 3rd September 2022.
The pace of palliative work on the Ekpoma axis of Benin Auchi Road has been slowed down as a result of vehicular gridlock on the highway.
Report reaching Urban Scoop Magazine confirmed that the work had commenced as promised by the contractors arround the 1T4 axis but heavy duty vehicular gridlock on the road for days now and the several trucks that are parked on the high way where the work is to be done has hindered the work progress. This has made it difficult for the Construction firm to move most needed equipments to site.
However the technical team of Dantata and Sawoe has assured stakeholders that by Monday nextweek, they will clear up the failed portion of Ewu Hill to discongest the road for men and equipments to work safely.
Recall that following the sorry state of the nearly 50 years old road, Youths of Esan land embarked on a peaceful protest to register their complaints.
Below is the progress report filed in to our news desk this morning. Excerpt:
UPDATE FROM EKPOMA AUCHI ROAD..
Good morning Great People.
The palliative work on the failed portion of the road kick started at IT4 junction by the express.
The contractor had hitches due to a truck that fell across the road around Ewu hill thereby causing complete gridlock and Dantata couldn’t move in their materials to continue work.
We spoke to him and he promised that today been Saturday they will fix the bad spot at Ewu hill to enable free flow. Monday morning work continue in Ekpoma.
We are closely monitoring the situation
