Ojiezele Commends Obaseki As Work On Ubiaja-Ugboha Road Project.

The Member Representing Esan South East Constituency, Hon. Ojiezele Osezua Sunday, aka Ikpenomhen has commended the Edo state governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki, for awarding the construction of the Ubiaja-Ugboha road project, in his Constituency.
He made the commendation in a chat with our correspondent on friday in Benin city, the state capital, while disclosing that Heartland the construction firm contracted for the job has started the construction work from Ugboha axis. He added that the project has been reflection in past budgets for the past ten years but it was never done until now.
According to him, “We appreciate God for His provisions in my time as member representing the local govt area. We also thank the state governor Godwin Obaseki, for prompt action and for not disappointing the people of Ubiaja and Ugboha.” He said.
When our correspondent visited the construction site at the Ugboha axis, preliminary work has commenced in ernest, the clearing of the tick bush which has taken over the bad road has commenced while a temporary corvette is been constructed to pave way for heavy duty vehicles of the construction firm to pass through as the old one is already weak and could collapsed any moment.
Speaking to our correspondent, the site engineer, Paolo Ferreira, disclosed that the project was awarded by the government of Godwin Obaseki and the road measuring over 12 kilometers is no longer motorable except for pedestrians and few motorcycle riders who could take the risk of taking the road. He added that the company is constructing a box corvette to allow easy movement of equipment and vehicles as the work is ongoing.
He added that they could complete the work in less than two years depending on how the governor disburse money for them to work, he further said that the project includes a short bridge and drainage but he couldn’t disclosed how much the project was awarded.
Meanwhile the people of Ugboha community has commended the state government for awarding the road project, adding that it’s a thing of joy to them because it will ease the movement of persons and farm Produce to Ubiaja market as it’s very difficult for them to move their goods to Ubiaja passing through Uromi, they also urged the handlers of the project and the state government to completed it in due time while praying the good Lord to bless governor Obaseki to finish what he has started.
At Ubiaja, the headquarters of the council area, the people expressed surprised that the construction of the road project has commenced, some wonder while the work did not start from the Ubiaja axis, a resident and leader of the people’s Democratic Party PDP in the area, Hon. Bobby Palmer, disclosed that he and many Ubiaja people are not aware but lauded the state government for the development while promising to reach out to the construction firm to ascertain the true nature of the work.
The Ubiaja-Ugboha road has long be abandoned because it’s no longer motorable as a result of the bad road and thieves have taken advantage of it to rob commuters and motorists of their money, property and motorcycles. But with the recent construction work on the road, hope has come to the people of Ubiaja and Ugboha whom are the major users of the road.
