Joyce Daniels Mourn the victims of Owo Church Massacre!
…. Calls for an overhaul of civil security in Nigeria.
Owo 6th June 2022.
“An injury to one is an injury to all”, says Joyce Daniels Oamen as she mourned the victims of Owo Church Massacre of yesterday the 5th day of June 2022.
The below dirge-like statement was released on her website www.joycedaniels.net this morning in condolence with the families of the deceased, the people of Owo, the Catholic community and the good people of Nigeria. Excerpt:
I have had to sit through the horrors of yesterday as it stared me dead in the face, as did everyone. Seeing the charred remains of countrymen, who had their lives cut short by terrorist attacks sent cold shivers down my spine. It is horrible what has happened at Owo and now, more than ever, these unfortunate events must be nipped in the bud.
My deepest condolences go out to the families of all deceased, and the good people of Owo Town and Ondo state in general. May the souls of the departed rest in God’s peace.
I also call on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu @rotimiaketi, the Chief Security Officer of Ondo state to intensify efforts to ensure that everyone responsible for this dastardly act is brought to book and faces justice. Every security apparatus within the state must be employed full-time to ensure such a disaster never repeats itself. Other states must now become proactive rather than reactive.
Overall, even though it doesn’t look like it, we must keep hope alive because, in the end, only the Citizens possess the ultimate power to decide the destiny of any Nation. May God comfort us all.
Nigeria MUST be better in our lifetime.
We shall overcome!
