The sensitisation team was led by Miss Venice Arebun from the Technical Office on Child Health and Nutrition. She urged parents to ensure that their children in the age brackets of 0-15 months are presented for free immunisation.
The sensitisation team reached out to people on the street, enlightened them and distributed informative flyers and materials to the literate ones.
During the enlightenment, the team observed that most of the people shy away from Immunisation as a result of some myths and superstitions about it like stunted growth, body pains and infant mortality amongst others
Consequently, the Organisers appealed to government at all levels to ensure that more children are immunized and also that there should be improved awareness on the Importance of Immunisation.
