IT’S TIME TO COME TOGETHER
By Amb. Tony Okonigene
With the accreditation of the Edo State National delegates monitored by INEC to vote at the ongoing national convention in Abuja, the controversies as to who are the candidates of the party in Edo State have been effectively laid to rest. It is crystal clear that INEC will not recognize any candidate who was not voted for using the lists of the 3-Adhoc delegates monitored by the commission.
At this stage, I want to thank most sincerely members of the Ebakota Movement for standing firm with the party. I praise the delegates who refused all monetary inducements and stood with the ideology of Ebakota.
Be that as it may, it is time to come together and embrace peace. Those of our members who supported any other candidate have their rights to choose whom to support. Even the aspirants themselves exercised their constitutional rights and as such we should not begrudge them.
Let no one be deceived, the coming elections are going to be tough in Edo state. We shall require a united house to face our common enemy the APC.
As such, the Ebakota Movement will engage in wooing our party men and women to come under one umbrella. We cannot afford to throw away the baby and the bath water. It is my appeal that we reduce all antagonistic posts and instead post more comments that will unite us.
In the congresses and primaries, there were no losers and no winners. In all, PDP and democracy won.
