I AM GLAD WHENEVER THEY SAY ” LETS GO TO THE SUPREME COURT ”
By Amb. Tony Okonigene
Since the advent of the current republic, one institution that has stood against party impunity and undemocratic tendencies is The Supreme Court. It has delivered landmark judgements that have strengthened our democracy. The Supreme Court has stood as a rock and umbrella for the down trodden in the political combats within the political parties.
From the battles of then Vice President Atiku Abubakar to Rotimi Ameachi, Peter Obi, Ifeanyi Ararume, etc, the Supreme Court has always come to deliver justice to the down trodden in the system.
As the Legacy PDP approaches the Supreme Court for justice regarding the Adhoc delegates, let us be rest assured that the apex court will rise to the occassion and deliver justice.
The Supreme Court has displayed zero tolerance for impunity within the political parties. One of the major objective for amending the Electoral Act is to strengthen internal democracy within the political parties and strengthening INEC as an institution. Be rest assured that the Supreme Court will enforce the provisions of the Electoral Act to the later.
Those who are masturbating about that parties are the Alpha and Omega concerning the nominations of delegates and candidates are in for a shocker.
The Supreme Court will not by commission or omission derail the wheel of progress by subverting the provisions of The Electoral Act that empower INEC to monitor congresses and primaries of political parties and reject any candidate submitted by any party who does not emerged from democratic processes monitored by INEC .
The Legacy PDP candidates and faithful members should take this to the bank and relax.
