Gov. Obaseki Describes Alenkhe A Visionary Leader, As Ossiomo Powers NUJ Benin.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Monday described the incumbent leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Edo State Council led by Comrade Festus Alenkhe as a visionary group laced with performance.
The governor said he is not dazed by the litany of projects delivered in a short period on the assumption of office by the new leadership considering the background of the Chairman of the State Council.
Governor Obaseki, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Osaigbovo Iyoha gave the bouquet during the commissioning of the Ossiomo Power Project at the Nigeria Union Of Journalists Secretariat in Benin City.
Obaseki, while calling on the Union to continue to be at the forefront of collaborating with his administration to develop the state, noted that his government’s infrastructure infusion has grossly affected positively the commitment of workers to their duties in the state.
Also in the entourage of the governor, was the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon Adaze Emwanta who posited that the Union has started on a good footing, adding that the commissioning of the ossiomo power project is a pointer to the state government’s sobriety of Making Edo State Great Again.
Similarly, the National President of the Union, Comrade Chris Isizugo represented by the National Trustee, Bimbo Oyetunde opined that Comrade Festus Alenkhe now has his name written in gold.
Earlier, the host, and Chairman, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, said the Ossiomo Power project is a sign of many to come and what his administration craved to achieve.
While thanking the state government for keeping its promises, he described the feat as the first of its kind in the history of the NUJ States Council.
Alenkhe who further pledged to engender more projects as the tenure last, wants the support of members to discharge his duty.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe was officially elected on December 17, 2021, as the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council having polled more votes to defeat his opponent and two-term former Secretary of the State Council, Comrade Titus Akhigbe.
