The fast growing educational event “Ewu Book Fair” 4th edition has been scheduled to hold in the month of November 2022, organising Committee told Urban Scoop Media in Ewu yesterday.

The chief organizer of the event, Mr. Osajele Godsent Jomo, director, Kings Star Hotel and Suite LTD who works in collaboration with Esan Creative Youths Foundation told newsmen that the 2022 edition will be bigger and impactful than the previous editions because this time, “schools outside Esanland are scheduled to participate in the “inter-school debating segment” one of the high points of the annual book event”, the organizer told Urban Scoop Media.

Schools in Edo North and South are scheduled to join schools in Edo Central in the cross fertilization of ideas and opinions on selected debate topics.

The Ewu Book Fair with the motto “promoting books, authors, culture and arts started in 2018 and has grown to become a rallying point for up and coming writers and creative youths to meet annually and talk about books.

The first edition led to the discovery of young Cynthia, an SS 2 student of Ikekato Secondary School who wrote a blockbuster novel titled “She Broke my Rules”, and published by Godsent Jomo Media.

The 2021 third edition witnessed the discovery of Miss Ivie Ahiabale, same SS 2 student of same Ikekato Secondary School, who wrote a best seller novel.

Among the winners of Ewu Book Fair Debate Trophies include: Idunwele Girls Secondary School Ewu, Don Bosco Science Academy Ukhun, Idunwele Primary Schools and others in various categories.

The various event lined up for the annual programme include: Book Exhibition, book trade, inter-school debate, spelling bee for juniors, talent hunts for artist and more.

Stakeholders of Ewu Book Fair include: Engr Fidelis Edokpa, (president of Ewu Progress Foundation), Saintmoses Eromosele (Author and Businesses man) Rev Albert Oboh of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Comrade Kingsley Ohens (President Esan Youths Organization), Chief Osiri Sadoh (author), Hon Farouk Ehimegbe, Mr Ededeawalen Ofino, MC James Leo, MC Spencer, Mr Agbozuadu Uneme Omoarelogie (Editor of Explorer Magazine, Commander Oboh Ehimare, Ewu Vigilantee Group, Mr Mark Akhuetie, Mr Abel Okosun, Mr Paul Aluede, Mr Emiator Jonathan, Dr Alexender Ikheloa, Late Elvis Aburime, Hon Davidson Egbele, Staff and Management of Kings Star Hotel, Staff and Students of schools in Esan Land, Chief Shaka Momodu, Prince Tijani Ojeifo, Author Ehizogie Iyeomoan and many persons who in one way or the other have contributed to the continous growth of Ewu Book Fair.
