Judicial hearing has commenced on the historic case filled by Barr Odiana Eriata Esq over the recent closure of Igueben College of Education by the Edo State Government.

According to a publication by casefileng.com trending online and available to Urban Scoop Media, the historic legal battle commenced today with Barr Eriata Esq standing tall as an emerging defender of the Esan Race.

Igueben College of Education is among the first generation of Colleges in Nigeria. It was established in the mid 1960s and was later used as training ground for Nigeria Army during the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970).

The College was closed down as a result of the war but was later resuscitated by Senator Osunbor during his short time as governor of Edo State.

The school had in it’s few years of re-opening, provided educational opportunities for students across Nigeria and also boosted local economy as well as provided employment for people.

Closing down the school for any reason whatsoever is uncalled for now when new schools are supposed to be built to meet the high population growth. Igueben College is a creation of Law. The legal battle instituted by Barr Eriata Esq is a great cause that should get the support of the generality of Esan People home and abroad. We all need to lend a voice to what Eriata is doing.

Below are details of developments as at press time. Excerpt.
