AAUE SECURITY PERSONNEL PLEDGE COMMITMENT TO UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT

The rumour making the rounds that security staff of Ambrose Alli University were having a showdown with the University Management was today Friday, 29th July, 2022 dispelled at a meeting held between representatives of the University security personnel and the AAU Management at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room.

The meeting which was a confidence-building interface provided Management the opportunity to assure the personnel of their continuous service in the University, in the midst of speculations that they had been sacked. Management commended the personnel for their dedication to duty and the fact that while other cadres of staff in the University embarked on strike, they had remained steadfast.

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin, blamed the rumours that were creating mistrust within the rank and file of the security personnel on divisive and mischievous elements and assured them that the concessionaire, Santana Securities Limited, approved by Government, was not forcing anyone to join it and that the University’s position was that any security staff who did not wish to join was free to convert to any cadre within the University as long as he or she was qualified for the position.

He informed the personnel that their April and May salaries were ready for payment to them and that they should be receiving their alerts any time soon.

A spokesman for the security personnel, Hon. Sunny Iyare, thanked the University Management for its openness and noted that so much falsehood had been peddled against the University Management which had biased the mind of some. He noted that this was the first time any University Management was directly engaging security staff and that they were wiser by the interaction than before they came. He prayed God to continue to direct and lead members of Management as they worked for the good of the University. He emphasized that the personnel present would carry the message to their colleagues and pledged the commitment of the staff to the University administration.

The the meeting ended on a happy note.

Highlight of the meeting was a group photograph where the AVC was flanked by the ADVC (Admin), ADVC (Acad) and the Acting Registrar. Representatives of the security personnel were the CSO, Hon Iyare, Mr Oronsaye, Barr Maria Enaholo and a host of others.
